That's what I've found too. Sending things back under warranty is the most fun though

Nah, not Eonon specifically. Just overall dealings with assorted no name brands.

Only problem i have with these cheaper alternatives is the internals are often cheaper and more prone to damage..

Remember the old saying

"You get what you pay for" so good luck.. your going to need it

3 month warranty is poor too..

I actually have people come into my work with these no name brands... they ask why they do this and this and why they act funny after a good few months of use.. i'm faced with telling them the quality of their headunit is pretty much not as good as of something like pioneer, JVC, Alpine etc (Yes i work in the business of car products mainly sound systems and car accessories)

more features yes... more prone to failure yes..

What extra does it do? the new JVC Double din does everything that does + has a touch screen at $1299 and is backed well and well priced for quality... Myself ive got a Pioneer Double Din DVD, With 6 CD stacker indash, Ipod adaptor and bluetooth hands free and cant say a bad word about it

But anyway.. good luck.. let us know how ya go

have hit a hicup...

Apparently I'm in the remote area...so it cost an extra $29 that I don't have. So I was like ffs send my money back then if you don't want to gimme a $29 discount. Freaking shipping was already $65.

That's how those dodgy Asian Ebay stores make all their money.

They pretend to sell something dirt cheap, then make up the rest of the money by charging you astronomical shipping fees.

Ebay has been s**t like that for years now.

The seller is well in their rights to charge the extra fee.. if you read the auction it states in the conditions "Some areas may be charged an extended area fee". that you should email them first to see if you'll get charged the extra fee... if you didn't email them.. it's your problem and by commiting to buy.. you accepted those terms and conditions.. they did not hide the fact..

So what can you do.. just pay the extra 29.00.. i dont know if they will be happy to give a refund when they have done nothing wrong and i'm sure they will try their hardest to avoid the refund

And that's why you should confirm it with the seller before bidding. :?

I too can confirm that most if not all Eonon products are rebadged Phillips, in the past 2 years or so, I have purchased two head units, one for my brother and one for my old Starlet GT.
Never had any problems with both units, these are great products if your on a budget, you get heaps of features for half, if not more the price those big brand names charge.
Last year I purchased a head unit (single din with an over sized lcd touch screen) for my convertible, another head unit (single din motorsied 7inch lcd touch screen), a 15inch roof mount fold down lcd screen and a lcd rear vision mirror for my van (aka Pimp Wagon), all from ebay, the seller I bought it from was from the company themselves.
When I installed them, everything worked except for the 15inch lcd screen and the lcd rear vision mirror, I tested both units before installing, after a day, they stopped working, 15inch screen turned white, and the lcd rear vision mirror had rainbow colours all over the screen.
As for warranty, I thought I was going to be screwed, I ended up installing the goods 2 weeks after receiving them and didnt bother to check them when I received it. As they have a 7 day replacement policy if the goods were dead on arrival or faulty within 7 days.
There response time was within 24 hours via email, but soon after they suggested to contact via skype for speedy repsonse. They asked me to open both products to check if there were any loose connections, this is when I found that the components used were Phillips, later finding out there was no loose connections and that both unit was faulty.
They organised DHL to come to my house to pick up the goods, and asked for me to pay for half shipping, after a week of receiving the goods, their technition said they were faulty, they gave me two options;
1. They refund my half paid postage and get the goods repaired which they said could take months or,
2. They will send me brand new units if I pay half shipping again.
I chose option 2 and within a week I received the new units, installed and working fine still to this day, mind you when I sent the goods back I didnt include the remote, manual, power/av cables, nothing, specially the power cable as I hacked mine for the install and knew I couldnt send it back in that condition, hoping they send me another one, yet I received all the goodies again, remote, manual and all :)

Now, there are many sellers on ebay selling Eonon products and most are resellers, so dont expect to get the same service that I had, on the top of my head I cant remember the sellers name I dealth with but know that they were Eonon themselves.

Just my 2cents

Cheers

not bad.

ive seen eonon popping up everywhere lately, they seem to be getting more well known. still a cheap brand though.

one i would stay away from is jensen. i had the jensen fold out dvd head unit, faulty within a month, sent it back, got another brand new replacement, same problems, buttons getting stuck and volume knob falling out.

bought myself an alpine iva-w502e, never looked back. well known brand, good quality and 12 mnths warranty. cant go wrong.

Reviving an old thread.
Recently purchased an Eonon G2213D. Loads of features. I purchased directly from Eonon. I found their prices up to $100 cheaper than Ebay (including delivery).

However, upon arrival i found some features to be faulty. After a few emails to their support department, I returned the unit and received a new one. All is well.

I had to pay half the freight back to Hong Kong, and nothing to receive the unit.

Apart from the manual being 'lacking' I'm happy with the unit and the after sales service.

Gonz.
