Head unit connection trouble

I've just got a new head unit pretty s**t really but it will have to do..
heres the go..
Its a kenwood and i need to connect the wires up to the stock ones.
It's a mark3 gti

so just wondering what the following wires color coordination is.

ignition wire... red on wiring harness
battery wire.. yellow on the harness

would be grateful for any help

Im assuming that you need to know which wires in the car match the 12v power and accesories wires on the deck loom? Not sure on colour but really the only way to know for sure is with a multimeter. That way you can see which has permanent power and which has the accesories power and connect the right one.... I think yellow on the deck normally goes to permanent power and red is accessories....

thats it mate go down to jaycar and grab a multi meter for 10 bucks and you will have you head unit installed in no time if you own a car you gotta have one thay can be used foe so many things. you could even recalibrate your tps aswell 8)
ive fallen victim to daily driver tern project car
the swift bug has not left me and i will return to a swft gti
