Hey guys, looking to purchase an optima battery but confused with numbers.
for eg, theres the optima d34, d35, d75 etc etc.
need it to power my massive stereo setup and all my other electrical guages and accessories.
what are you guys using and your experiences? also is 750cca sufficient or is there room for more? mind you charge rates are like 75ah, so ill probably need to upgrade my alternator.
cheers
Optima Battery
Like many others, I highly recommend Optima batteries if your running a good sound system. I've used the D35 before and it's a real tight fit in your battery tray, it does fit, but you will need to buy/make a new battery bracket. I'm currently using a smaller Optima that fits in the standard battery tray and bracket, and it's works great, andIi currently running a 700 watt RMS system.

My mate is running an optima yellow top in his charade, not sure on the part number but it's the same size as a commodore battery
It's running a 2500w rms system no problems and can take two movies at the drive ins with wipers and demister fan going and the volume 3/4 of the way up the whole time and still crank over at the end of the night like it was nothing

Marine batteries for cars, they are designed to take pounding and vibrations in a boat
Mate with a FC RX7 has killed a yellow top, all the thumps and bumps from the road knackered it internally. IIRC the blue top is marine
