Hi, would anyone know why my back 6x9 speakers cut out when the volume is turned up high?? But come back on once the ignition is off and turned back on? I have 2 4 inch speakers in the front 2 6x9s on the parcel shelf and a fusion subwoofer.
any input would be helpfull, thanks

If positive and negative were back to front wouldn't the speakers just not work at all??

Oh okay ahah I didn't know that, I will have a look tomorrow
Sounds like the amp (or head unit) is going into 'protect mode' due to dodgy wiring or the amp/head unit lacks the power to drive the speakers at high volume. Knowing a bit more about your system would help.
Reversing the speaker polarity affects phasing, but shouldn't cause them to cut out.

Ok thanks for the help mate
You haven't specified what amp your running ...?
Like yldboy said the polarity won't effect the cut out it will just make them sound s**t because their sucking in instead of pushing out
If your running a poor quality amp/head unit then that probably won't help ...
I'm leaning towards bad earths on either the head unit or the amp

Its because the bass and treble were up to high and I don't have an amp except the one that's built into my sub which is only for the sub.
