so the rims are on, now im starting to look at exhausts, what size would be good? i was thinking 2' mandrel bent or a 2.25' press bend system just from the cat back in mild steel.

what are other people running?

any ideas would help :D

Mine's bigger than that. I think 2.5". However I had the muffler downgraded to 2". When it was larger, the car ran a bit rich, and there didn't appear to be as much bottom-end toque. I reckon 2" is the go, unless you plan on modding the ECU to cope with the extra flow.

Although the 2.5" seemed to work better over 5500RPM... the 2" seems to be restrictive there. Maybe it's because it's not a straight-through muffler anymore.

i got under the car and had a look yesterday and it looks like the exhaust is partly modified already  im assuming the stock exhaust would have a resonator of some variety in the middle of the exhaust? mine goes from the cat/headers basically straight through to the rear muffler all that is in the middle is a hotdog style thing, anyone have a pic of the stock exhaust?

thanks, pete

That hot dog style "thing" Is actaully a resonator pete

But I'm with the 2" Mandrel Bend Exhaust or 2.25 for Press Bent...

2.5" is getting excessive.

 gathered that, but i thought they would have a muffler there as standard?

got quoted $320 for a 2.25 press bent system cat back in mild steel, including resonator, and rear muffler, at Aussie discount on port rd, sounds like an alright price to me?

anywhere else in Adelaide do good priced exhausts?

Exhaust Technology in Millswood do real good work, a bit pricey but I would recomend them to anyone. Their after sale service is great too =D>

hi juz want to share with u guys.
recently i juz got my project done, transplant engine to ignis sport 1.5 manual.
my piping setup now was 2.2inch and i found that it's very hard to reach 140km/h.
i'm guessing if 2inch piping would make it easier, will try make the piping to 2inch since the 2.2inch was too big. Fuel is kinda rich too.
any ideas/opinion guys to make my car easily go 160 or 170km/h.

Leave it alone, exhaust is tuned from factory.More noise is all you will get and a loss in fuel economy and performance to boot. :)
