Well... after a couple of months of intermittent (< 30 sec, every 20 minutes) engine failures where the car felt like it was running on 2 cylinders, it finally failed for long enough to rip the ignition apart and diagnose it.

1x faulty lead + 1x faulty coil, so my 2 middle cylinders aren't firing.

Monster sell ignition lead kits for just under $100, but they don't appear to sell ignition coils.

Seems kinda pointless upgrading leads on only 2 cylinders. Are there any better options besides heading down to Repco/Autobarn/Supercheap? (my bro can probably get me trade price)

Footnote: I like how the Ignis has dual coils Sure, there's twice the chance of one failing, but one can fail and you can still get the thing home. If it only had one coil (like many cars), it would've been on a towtruck, and I wouldn't have been able to quickly swap the modules to confirm one as faulty (just think what a towtruck trip to the mechanic for diagnostics would have cost!)

An illustration for those having trouble visualising it (it's #3):

TL;DR: Can anyone recommend a good place to get leads and coils?

i've been thinking of getting suzuki sports leads for awhile just keep for getting to order them when i have spare cash!
i personally would just get a new genuine coil, yes i know they probly cost a lot but then you have the piece of mind knowing it will fit and has warranty!

if i get a chance il hit up friend on monday to get a price and avialblity of the coil?

I think I might try the wreckers (Suziworld) first, then see what a brand new SGP one costs from the dealer. I'm assuming that coils don't die all that often, and a second-hand one would probably last.

The leads I would probably want new. I rigged a multimeter up to lead #3 and there's no conductivity. Once again, I'll see what they charge. I've seen autobarn charge far more than SuzukiSport in the past.

Just got a new set of leads plus a new ignition coil from SuziWorld for $130 all up. The had apparently only been used for 12kms (looked pretty new).

I'm told that if it's not the coil (which I'm pretty sure it is, as I could swap the coils and have the same coil fail on different cylinders) apparently the crank position sensor is known to fail with similar symptoms.

Such a great mob to deal with :)
