Anyone ever changed the alternator belt or the air con belt on there IS. Did mine yesterday. First time since new. Can't say the belts came of in bad of nick. Very surprised after 10 years of service. Though putting on the new ones, especially the alternator one was a hard graft. The allen key bolt that holds the alternator at the bottom broke 2 allen keys before it decided to give. That was with plenty of wd to loosen it also. #-o

Yes I have changed mine every 50000km just maintenance to car and not because they failed or damaged. yes they are a tight fit for hands. I didn't have as much trouble as you by the sounds with breaking tools. I found taking wheel and inner guard off helps (have hoist at work makes it easy).

Wow every 50,000 seems way to often,Mine had done 160,000 .Yeah took wheel and protective inner guard thing off also, was just very tight. But i surpose youll get that after 10 years,I was just glad it decided to free itself otherwise I could see a lot of cursing ahead. :)
