Hey guys i have an after market alarm on the car which locks and unlocks the doors.
however its not un/locking the car anymore. itt turns the alarm on however its not un/locking the car and the keys dont seem to open the doors. I been entering car to unlock through the boot which has a special way of opening itself.
Not an ignis owner but central locking is generally a standard setup.
When you say you cant open the doors with the key do u mean the door wont unlock at all or the other doors wont unlock with the turn of the key in the drivers door?
First thing to do is check the accessories fuse in your fuse box under the dash. If thats ok then check the grounding wire for your central locking, which is usually located "somewhere" under the dash. If no luck maybe the problem is a jammed rod in one of the doors, but this wouldnt usually affect all the doors.
Both locks look like they've been taken to with a screwdriver as an attempt at breaking in. The metal around the locks looks a bit bent/warped and the barrels felt like they weren't properly attached to the door. Of course, I spent about 5 seconds looking at it. I suspect the locks are simply damaged.
What a pain, I'd rather they just smash the side window in than meddle with the door locks. Low lifes are usually after stereo gear and other related valuables vs stealing the car.
Reminds me of when some idiot broke into my gti, they flogged the Momo steering wheel, so I couldn't even drive home.
