Compressor Gone..best options?

My mechanic has just confirmed that my aircon compressor is on it's last legs and needs immediate replacing. I am tosing up what to do? Replace with a second hand one from an old Ignis Sport..would that get say another 80,000kms? Or go for a new one at a cost of $1000?

Does anyone know if there are any similarities between the Ignis Sport aircon system and other Suzuki models like the new swift?

My car was been absolutely golden so far and I was hoping on keeping it for another 3 years or so, but I'm not sure if getting an Ignis Sport to 300,000 kms is realistic or not. I know the rear brakes need replacing next service so I'm doing the math...
